Ellery Barnes

Undergraduate Researcher

Ellery Barnes is from Mill Valley, California. She is currently a second year pursuing a bachelors degree in Bioengineering at the University of California Los Angeles. In high school, she interned at Foldscope Instruments working to make science more accessible through a $1.00 paper microscope. Through this experience, she discovered her passion for frugal science and hopes to expand this approach to innovate solutions for global health challenges. Ellery is excited to work under Dr. Herman at UCLA to gain experience and contribute to advancing infectious disease therapeutics. Outside the lab, she seeks adventure through running, backpacking, and spending time with her dog and chickens.
